Paris Couture Week Spring 2015 // Ralph & Russo

I first heard (or better, noticed) Ralph & Russo, when Angelina Jolie wore a stunning white strapless midi dress with peplum and metallic panels on the waist @ the Berlin premiere for ‘World War Z’ back in June 2013 (see collage below). Then, she wore a light grey peplum jacket & pencil skirt to meet Queen Elizabeth II to receive an honorary damehood from Her Majesty in October 2014 (see below). Not my kind of fruit, but most appropriate for being named a Dame. The third and most elegant look of Angie in Ralph & Russo was another white midi dress with a bolero cape to attend the premiere of ‘Unbroken’ in London, in November 2014 (see below).

But the one who actually triggered my curiosity and opened my appetite to learn more about the London-based couture label, was Gwyneth Paltrow (Brad's ex-fiance) in her maxi baby pink tube dress @ the 2015 Oscars. However, after doing some thorough research, I discovered that Angelina had gone for a very similar, almost identical, dress in white by Ralph & Russo, three years ago (in February 2012) for her Paris premiere of ‘In the Land of Blood And Honey’ movie! Oops! (see below).

According to Marie Claire UKthe London-based label was founded in 2007 by two Australians and specialises in eveningwear; they’re also the only British couture label to have been invited to show in Paris. Their Spring 2015 Collection was inspired by 50s silhouettes and delicate pastel florals and as you can realize, I WANT THEM ALL! Tamara Ralph (Creative Director) and Michael Russo (CEO) are engaged to be married. A love story that turned into a very successful business or the other way around. Does it matter? I am sharing a photo of them, at the end if this post, so you can see for yourself what a lovely couple they are and I am letting you enjoy my personal picks of their swoon-worthy collection.
